Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 1.37% or 0.0450 points to trade at 3.3200 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 0.90% or 0.0350 points to end at 3.9290 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.85% or 0.1350 points to 16.0600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 2.81% or 0.1770 points to trade at 6.1230 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 2.77% or 0.0234 points to end at 0.8220 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 2.46% or 0.0180 points to 0.7140.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 16 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; down 2.77% or 0.0234 to 0.8220.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.67% or 0.92 to $56.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.36% or 0.71 to hit $52.96 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.35 to trade at $1200.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.73% to 1.0660, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.8735.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 101.02.
