Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 1.60% or 0.0440 points to trade at 2.7870 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 1.36% or 0.0890 points to end at 6.6460 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.92% or 0.0100 points to 1.1000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.01% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.1290 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 2.84% or 0.0760 points to end at 2.6000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 2.82% or 0.0460 points to 1.5840.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 31 to 14 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.84% or 0.0760 to 2.6000.
Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.20% or 0.60 to $49.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.21 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.45 to trade at $1287.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1236, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.7931.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 94.86.
