Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.05% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 8.99% or 0.9700 points to trade at 11.7600 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 2.54% or 0.1600 points to end at 6.4500 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 2.26% or 0.0195 points to 0.8825 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 0.91% or 0.0022 points to trade at 0.2397 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.64% or 0.0350 points to end at 5.4200 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.46% or 0.0080 points to 1.7340.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 19 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 2.10% or 1.24 to $60.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.61% or 1.32 to hit $51.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 4.05 to trade at $1287.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1387, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8946.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 95.838.
