Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Developers and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 1.34% or 0.98 points to trade at 73.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 1.29% or 0.32 points to end at 25.09 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 0.96% or 0.33 points to 34.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 2.77% or 192.65 points to trade at 6752.35 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.72% or 1.94 points to end at 110.53 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was down 1.55% or 0.10 points to 6.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 228 to 228 and 185 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.19% or 0.99 to $46.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.90% or 0.91 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.92 to trade at $1223.62 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.2340, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.7107.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.64.
