Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 4.11% or 0.43 points to trade at 10.88 at the close. Meanwhile, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) added 3.52% or 0.47 points to end at 13.82 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 3.49% or 0.54 points to 16.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 3.27% or 10.55 points to trade at 312.30 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.26% or 3.90 points to end at 168.60 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was down 1.86% or 5.05 points to 266.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 244 to 240 and 180 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.57% or 0.79 to $51.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.77% or 0.91 to hit $52.35 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.36% or 16.95 to trade at $1263.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.70% to 4.3223, while USD/PLN fell 1.09% to 3.7913.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.37% at 93.49.
