Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Holding Firms and Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 1.94% or 0.090 points to trade at 4.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.63% or 2.0000 points to end at 125.0000 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 1.52% or 12.880 points to 860.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which fell 3.29% or 2.600 points to trade at 76.500 at the close. Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX) declined 2.47% or 0.220 points to end at 8.700 and BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) was down 2.18% or 2.50 points to 112.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 101 to 81 and 48 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.53% or 7.10 to $1346.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.71% or 1.33 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.22% or 1.11 to trade at $48.99 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.27% to 7.0492, while USD/PHP rose 0.51% to 47.010.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.58.
