Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.50% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO), which rose 8.59% or 164.000 points to trade at 2074.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) added 3.84% or 0.190 points to end at 5.140 and Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) was up 3.63% or 1.000 points to 28.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philex Mining Corp (PS:PX), which fell 5.89% or 0.360 points to trade at 5.750 at the close. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) declined 1.95% or 0.200 points to end at 10.080 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was down 1.32% or 10.000 points to 749.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 94 to 77 and 42 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.88% or 10.90 to $1234.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.37% or 0.88 to hit $36.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.35% or 0.93 to trade at $38.60 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.20% to 7.1914, while USD/PHP rose 0.33% to 46.805.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.61.
