Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 5.13% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.205 at the close. Meanwhile, Relapasa (LM:REL) added 5.00% or 0.010 points to end at 0.210 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 2.04% or 0.490 points to 24.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 2.33% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.08 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 2.68% or 0.300 points to end at 10.900 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) was down 2.13% or 0.030 points to 1.410.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 14 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.69% or 1.65 to $59.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.60% or 1.71 to hit $63.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.67% or 8.00 to trade at $1186.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.08% to 3.1525, while EUR/PEN rose 0.96% to 3.5115.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 95.35.
