Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverage, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General fell 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 2.63% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.190 at the close. Meanwhile, Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 1.37% or 0.060 points to end at 4.450 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was up 1.03% or 0.020 points to 1.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which fell 3.39% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) declined 2.89% or 0.140 points to end at 4.700 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was down 2.63% or 0.010 points to 0.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 11 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) fell to 3-year lows; losing 2.63% or 0.010 to 0.370.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 5.70% or 3.08 to $50.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 5.20% or 3.08 to hit $56.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.64% or 7.80 to trade at $1202.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.05% to 3.0990, while EUR/PEN rose 0.43% to 3.3706.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 98.25.
