Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.91% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 5.56% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.33% or 0.020 points to end at 0.620 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was up 3.08% or 0.200 points to 6.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which fell 8.65% or 1.800 points to trade at 19.000 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) declined 1.56% or 0.100 points to end at 6.300 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was down 1.48% or 0.020 points to 1.330.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.52% or 0.71 to $45.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1329.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2770, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6227.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.56.
