Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.00% or 0.610 points to trade at 12.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 3.28% or 0.020 points to end at 0.630 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 2.85% or 0.82 points to 29.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relapasa (LM:REL), which fell 3.91% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.221 at the close. Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) declined 3.85% or 0.050 points to end at 1.250 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.590.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 13 to 11 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.71% or 0.32 to $45.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.04% or 0.48 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.95 to trade at $1277.45 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.63% to 3.3765, while EUR/PEN fell 0.55% to 3.7217.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.75% at 98.61.
