Peru stocks higher at close of trade; S&P Lima General up 0.13%

Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.13% to hit a new 52-week high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 5.71% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM:BVL) added 4.54% or 0.150 points to end at 3.450 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 4.10% or 0.005 points to 0.127 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Relapasa (LM:REL), which fell 2.22% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.220 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 1.44% or 0.020 points to end at 1.370 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was down 0.99% or 0.080 points to 8.020.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged.

Shares in Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.71% or 0.040 to 0.740.

Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.75% or 0.84 to $48.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.29 to trade at $1261.39 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2450, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7778.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 93.29.
