DENVER - Palantir Technologies Inc . (NYSE: NYSE:PLTR) has been awarded a prime agreement valued at $178.4 million by the Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) to develop the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) ground station system. The TITAN system is the latest effort to advance the U.S. Army’s intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities using artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).

Under the agreement, Palantir will create 10 TITAN prototypes, which include five Advanced and five Basic variants, and will oversee the integration of new technologies and transition to fielding. TITAN is designed to automate the process of target recognition and geolocation from various sensors, thereby shortening the sensor-to-shooter timelines and enhancing the common intelligence picture for mission command and long-range precision fires.

Palantir's TITAN solution will leverage insights from soldiers to maximize usability, continuing the company's history of delivering AI capabilities to the warfighter. This includes deploying the Army's first AI-defined vehicle, as part of a comprehensive and evolving defense strategy.

The development of TITAN involves a collaboration with industry partners such as Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC), Anduril Industries, L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX), Pacific Defense, SNC, Strategic Technology Consulting, and World Wide Technology. These partners were chosen for their shared commitment to innovation and the Army's objectives of flexibility, interoperability, and modularity. Together, they aim to deliver modern, scalable, and adaptable capabilities to meet the demands of a rapidly changing threat landscape.

The TITAN system will serve as a critical tool for operational forces, enabling them to obtain a full understanding of their operational environment and make decisions in real-time. This is expected to significantly increase the accuracy and effects of long-range precision fires.

This contract was awarded through an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement, a mechanism that allows the Army to engage with non-traditional defense contractors to procure innovative solutions. It marks a progression from the competitive prototyping phase that began in June 2022.
