Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Energy and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.77% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 10.10% or 0.50 points to trade at 5.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) added 9.34% or 20.5 points to end at 239.9 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) was up 5.26% or 7.50 points to 149.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG), which fell 2.14% or 0.79 points to trade at 36.07 at the close. Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) declined 0.98% or 0.55 points to end at 55.55 and Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) was down 0.37% or 1.2 points to 321.2.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 89 to 87 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.98% or 0.55 to 55.55.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.67% or 0.76 to $46.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.55% or 0.75 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.54 to trade at $1229.14 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.70% to 9.4646, while USD/NOK fell 0.79% to 8.6081.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 98.53.
