Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Diversified Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.33% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 8.83% or 1.5 points to trade at 18.7 at the close. Meanwhile, Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) added 6.57% or 2.81 points to end at 45.60 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was up 6.18% or 0.42 points to 7.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orkla ASA (OL:ORK), which fell 2.63% or 2.05 points to trade at 75.85 at the close. SalMar ASA (OL:SALM) declined 2.19% or 5.90 points to end at 263.30 and Lerøy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) was down 2.07% or 9.0 points to 426.1.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 137 to 50 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 6.57% or 2.81 to 45.60.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.39% or 0.63 to $44.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.25% or 0.58 to hit $45.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.86% or 10.95 to trade at $1262.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.22% to 9.1239, while USD/NOK rose 0.43% to 8.3846.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.86.
