Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Capital Goods and Consumer Durables And Apparel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 1.10% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which rose 12.90% or 3.0 points to trade at 26.7 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 5.62% or 1.40 points to end at 26.30 and TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) was up 4.72% or 7.9 points to 175.2 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA), which fell 3.15% or 11.30 points to trade at 347.70 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 1.92% or 5.1 points to end at 261.1 and Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) was down 1.89% or 1.15 points to 59.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 112 to 88 and 29 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 4.59% or 2.27 to $51.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 4.98% or 2.58 to hit $54.42 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.25 to trade at $1169.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.50% to 8.9808, while USD/NOK fell 0.95% to 8.4440.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 101.19.
