Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 2.26%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 10.00% or 0.66 points to trade at 7.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) added 9.97% or 11.51 points to end at 127.00 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 9.86% or 0.21 points to 2.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which fell 9.75% or 89.47 points to trade at 828.22 at the close. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) declined 1.11% or 0.010 points to end at 0.890 and Dangflour (LAGOS:DANGFLO) was down 0.37% or 0.01 points to 2.69.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 39 to 16 and 34 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 6.37% or 2.71 to $45.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 5.75% or 2.73 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.92% or 10.30 to trade at $1132.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.16% to 224.520, while USD/NGN fell 0.10% to 199.060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 96.16.
