Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.90% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 3.40% or 25.01 points to trade at 765.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) added 3.22% or 0.110 points to end at 3.530 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) was up 3.03% or 1.00 points to 34.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which fell 2.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.20 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 0.62% or 0.09 points to end at 14.49 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) was down 0.29% or 0.02 points to 6.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 26 to 12 and 58 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.32% or 0.15 to $46.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.90 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.42 to trade at $1228.32 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.21% to 344.220, while USD/NGN fell 0.68% to 314.350.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
