Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 1.98% or 0.95 points to trade at 49.27 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AS:KPN) fell 0.15% or 0.004 points to end at 2.679 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 0.17% or 0.35 points to 210.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 2.62% or 0.53 points to trade at 19.53 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 2.25% or 0.44 points to end at 19.14 and Philips Kon (AS:PHG) was down 1.83% or 0.51 points to 27.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 132 to 42 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.30% to 19.81.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.32% or 1.07 to $47.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.11% or 1.02 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.77% or 9.10 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0581, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8529.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 101.48.
