Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Kon (AS:PHG), which rose 0.98% or 0.27 points to trade at 27.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) added 0.78% or 0.23 points to end at 28.94 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.73% or 0.43 points to 59.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 7.08% or 3.99 points to trade at 52.35 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 4.15% or 2.440 points to end at 56.420 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was down 1.70% or 0.52 points to 30.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 99 to 67 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Philips Kon (AS:PHG) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.98% or 0.27 to 27.73.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.23% to 18.11.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.17% or 0.58 to $49.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.11% or 0.56 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1271.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 98.64.
