Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which rose 1.29% or 0.235 points to trade at 18.500 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 0.84% or 1.60 points to end at 193.10 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.81% or 0.165 points to 20.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 3.58% or 1.040 points to trade at 28.005 at the close. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) declined 3.37% or 0.86 points to end at 24.63 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was down 3.31% or 0.990 points to 28.880.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 87 to 39 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.81% or 0.165 to 20.600.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.03% to 10.94.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.29% or 2.20 to $64.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.45% or 2.62 to hit $73.32 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.13% or 27.90 to trade at $1280.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8743.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.81.
