Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Food Producers and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 0.66% or 0.23 points to trade at 34.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.14% or 0.04 points to end at 28.21 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) was up 0.03% or 0.01 points to 32.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 3.03% or 1.80 points to trade at 57.64 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) declined 2.66% or 19.40 points to end at 710.00 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 2.58% or 25.50 points to 963.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 73 to 24 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.03% or 1.80 to 57.64.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.21% or 0.17 to $81.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.13 to hit $85.58 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.14% or 27.10 to trade at $2,341.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 105.44.
