Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 3.52% or 4.00 points to trade at 117.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) added 2.44% or 5.55 points to end at 232.65 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was up 1.87% or 1.27 points to 69.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which fell 2.71% or 0.27 points to trade at 9.73 at the close. Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) declined 2.31% or 0.66 points to end at 27.70 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) was down 2.09% or 0.98 points to 45.98.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 119 to 117 and 6 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.73% to 19.79.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.32% or 0.86 to hit $64.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.65% or 7.70 to trade at $1178.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.86% to 1.1227, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 95.25.
