Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 3.77% or 0.515 points to trade at 14.170 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 3.71% or 0.248 points to end at 6.938 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 2.04% or 0.090 points to 4.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which fell 1.85% or 2.25 points to trade at 119.70 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) declined 1.82% or 0.445 points to end at 24.060 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 0.83% or 1.85 points to 221.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 76 to 49 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.26% to 18.04.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.41% or 0.74 to $51.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.46% or 0.80 to hit $54.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 10.60 to trade at $1283.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0712, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8380.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 99.69.
