Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 4.05% or 1.73 points to trade at 44.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 2.48% or 0.92 points to end at 37.76 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 1.34% or 0.035 points to 2.654 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which fell 2.25% or 2.70 points to trade at 117.50 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.80% or 0.158 points to end at 8.607 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was down 1.71% or 0.96 points to 55.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 68 to 57 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.88% to 13.60.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.51% or 0.82 to $53.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.57% or 0.89 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.05 to trade at $1234.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0554, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8482.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 101.39.
