Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.96% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which rose 9.76% or 122 points to trade at 1372 at the close. Meanwhile, Alliances (CS:ADI) added 2.33% or 1 points to end at 61 and AFMA SA (CS:AFM) was up 1.89% or 15 points to 805 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cartier Saada (CS:CRS), which fell 5.85% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.30 at the close. Aluminum du Maroc SA (CS:ALU) declined 4.45% or 43 points to end at 924 and Total Maroc SA (CS:TMA) was down 3.82% or 29.0 points to 730.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 19 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aluminum du Maroc SA (CS:ALU) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.45% or 43 to 924.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.48% or 0.74 to $49.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.62% or 0.82 to hit $49.80 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1270.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.21% to 10.9410, while USD/MAD fell 0.31% to 9.6790.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 93.77.
