Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Forestry & Paper, Chemicals and Holding Companies sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR), which rose 8.08% or 9.85 points to trade at 131.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Aluminum du Maroc SA (CS:ALU) added 5.99% or 73 points to end at 1291 and Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) was up 5.66% or 3.06 points to 57.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC), which fell 8.16% or 8.80 points to trade at 99.00 at the close. Taslif (CS:TSF1) declined 5.99% or 1.67 points to end at 26.22 and Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) was down 4.99% or 8.40 points to 160.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 21 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taslif (CS:TSF1) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.99% or 1.67 to 26.22.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.15% or 0.08 to $53.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.47 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.95% or 11.55 to trade at $1199.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.03% to 10.7530, while USD/MAD fell 0.06% to 10.0111.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 100.01.
