Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.29% or 9.390 points to trade at 294.380 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 3.07% or 1.000 points to end at 33.610 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was up 1.68% or 0.550 points to 33.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 14.85% or 0.450 points to trade at 2.580 at the close. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 4.80% or 0.600 points to end at 11.900 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 3.00% or 0.580 points to 18.770.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 113 to 65 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.11% or 1.35 to $1218.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.83% or 0.41 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 0.72 to trade at $49.64 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.18% to 18.4521, while EUR/MXN fell 0.24% to 20.5378.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.84.
