Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 7.94% or 0.960 points to trade at 13.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Simec, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:SIMECB) added 2.88% or 1.100 points to end at 39.230 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 2.69% or 2.360 points to 90.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 4.05% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.450 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 3.81% or 8.210 points to end at 207.530 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was down 3.21% or 6.790 points to 204.590.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 94 to 60 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.05% or 0.230 to 5.450.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.34% or 3.60 to $1070.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.10 to hit $42.97 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $46.06 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.16% to 16.5088, while EUR/MXN fell 0.39% to 17.5315.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 99.81.
