Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 2.09% or 0.690 points to trade at 33.670 at the close. Meanwhile, Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) added 1.74% or 3.080 points to end at 179.630 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 1.10% or 0.030 points to 2.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which fell 3.49% or 10.340 points to trade at 286.310 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 3.21% or 1.410 points to end at 42.550 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was down 3.17% or 4.080 points to 124.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 81 to 79 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.09% or 0.690 to 33.670. Shares in Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) rose to all time highs; rising 1.74% or 3.080 to 179.630.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 8.00 to $1323.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.51% or 1.11 to hit $43.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 0.98 to trade at $45.11 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.24% to 18.7798, while EUR/MXN rose 1.42% to 20.6435.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.30.
