Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 2.00% or 0.760 points to trade at 38.770 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) added 1.71% or 0.530 points to end at 31.600 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.49% or 0.240 points to 16.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which fell 3.99% or 5.54 points to trade at 133.43 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.70% or 0.810 points to end at 29.190 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was down 1.69% or 1.860 points to 108.110.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 138 to 111 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.89% or 11.50 to $1281.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $45.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.13 to trade at $47.93 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 18.1857, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 20.3975.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.94.
