Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 11.05% or 2.610 points to trade at 26.230 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) added 1.09% or 1.64 points to end at 151.81 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 1.00% or 0.270 points to 27.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which fell 2.46% or 1.930 points to trade at 76.460 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 2.34% or 9.80 points to end at 409.25 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was down 2.12% or 1.050 points to 48.480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 149 to 121 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.50% or 19.11 to $1256.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.78% or 0.35 to hit $44.38 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.13 to trade at $46.87 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.65% to 18.0348, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 20.1033.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 97.47.
