Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 2.72% or 0.740 points to trade at 27.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) added 2.31% or 2.490 points to end at 110.330 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 2.04% or 0.320 points to 16.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL), which fell 2.15% or 0.360 points to trade at 16.350 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 2.09% or 0.430 points to end at 20.050 and Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) was down 1.71% or 3.450 points to 198.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 62 to 56 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.34% or 4.00 to $1167.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.34% or 2.58 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.40% or 1.52 to trade at $62.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.34% to 15.7905, while EUR/MXN fell 0.43% to 17.4541.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.48.
