Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 1.41% or 1.52 points to trade at 109.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 1.13% or 1.240 points to end at 110.660 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 0.99% or 0.340 points to 34.760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which fell 3.41% or 1.650 points to trade at 46.670 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 2.62% or 0.41 points to end at 15.25 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 1.77% or 1.70 points to 94.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 142 to 118 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.51% or 6.80 to $1313.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.79% or 1.72 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.08 to trade at $69.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 19.2402, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 22.9666.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 92.23.
