Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 3.91% or 1.690 points to trade at 44.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 3.10% or 13.390 points to end at 445.310 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 2.89% or 4.870 points to 173.640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 2.31% or 0.730 points to trade at 30.900 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.13% or 5.270 points to end at 242.490 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was down 2.01% or 0.520 points to 25.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 107 to 62 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.13% or 5.270 to 242.490.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1318.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.41% or 0.62 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.28 to trade at $46.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.73% to 19.8323, while EUR/MXN rose 0.53% to 22.1219.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.97.
