Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Consumer Staples and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.36% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 8.45% or 22.310 points to trade at 286.360 at the close. Meanwhile, VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 3.26% or 1.14 points to end at 36.13 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 2.09% or 0.440 points to 21.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL), which fell 2.19% or 0.260 points to trade at 11.600 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) declined 1.73% or 0.38 points to end at 21.53 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was down 1.09% or 0.030 points to 2.720.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 106 to 67 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.60% or 8.05 to $1322.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.16% or 0.52 to hit $44.23 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.48 to trade at $45.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.17% to 18.5453, while EUR/MXN fell 0.64% to 20.3506.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 97.44.
