Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 3.55% or 1.120 points to trade at 32.640 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 2.73% or 3.020 points to end at 113.840 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.57% or 1.090 points to 43.570 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 12.51% or 106.22 points to trade at 743.00 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 4.40% or 2.070 points to end at 45.000 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 4.35% or 0.79 points to 17.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 125 to 91 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.19% or 2.35 to $1256.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.61% or 0.27 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.43 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.69% to 17.9188, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 20.0675.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 97.14.
