Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 4.79% or 2.550 points to trade at 55.840 at the close. Meanwhile, VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 3.69% or 0.38 points to end at 10.68 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 2.95% or 1.890 points to 65.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which fell 3.14% or 3.74 points to trade at 115.53 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 2.41% or 0.900 points to end at 36.450 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was down 1.87% or 0.40 points to 21.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 223 to 104 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.41% or 0.900 to 36.450.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 3.30 to $1296.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.40% or 0.92 to hit $64.89 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 1.46 to trade at $75.33 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.67% to 20.0787, while EUR/MXN rose 1.02% to 23.4841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.02.
