Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 0.96% or 0.036 points to trade at 3.786 at the close. Meanwhile, Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) fell 0.08% or 0.02 points to end at 25.58 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) was down 0.11% or 0.0040 points to 3.7260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI), which fell 79.82% or 56.63 points to trade at 14.32 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 4.74% or 0.1740 points to end at 3.5000 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was down 4.34% or 0.7200 points to 15.8700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 254 to 99 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.68% or 0.34 to $50.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.51% or 0.27 to hit $52.78 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.72 to trade at $1266.38 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1181, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8705.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.28.
