Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 1.83% or 0.056 points to trade at 3.112 at the close. Meanwhile, UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 1.36% or 0.0320 points to end at 2.3840 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 0.72% or 0.0130 points to 1.8180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which fell 19.39% or 0.0638 points to trade at 0.2652 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 7.03% or 1.52 points to end at 20.10 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was down 4.77% or 0.305 points to 6.095.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 306 to 85 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) fell to all time lows; falling 19.39% or 0.0638 to 0.2652.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 4.47% or 2.19 to $46.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 4.25% or 2.13 to hit $47.97 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.27% or 17.05 to trade at $1356.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1092, while EUR/GBP rose 1.29% to 0.8499.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.08.
