Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.90% or 0.63 points to trade at 22.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 2.88% or 0.0137 points to end at 0.4890 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 2.64% or 0.0740 points to 2.8720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which fell 2.02% or 1.05 points to trade at 51.05 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 1.65% or 0.37 points to end at 22.02 and Brembo (MI:BRBI) was down 1.64% or 0.90 points to 54.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 207 to 132 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.41% or 0.72 to $51.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.74% or 0.94 to hit $54.96 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.88% or 9.90 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 102.72.
