Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 2.13% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 7.23% or 1.040 points to trade at 15.430 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 5.68% or 3.95 points to end at 73.50 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 4.94% or 1.20 points to 25.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which fell 2.73% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.90 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.26% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.3930 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was down 0.20% or 0.030 points to 14.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 243 to 109 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.23% or 1.040 to 15.430. Shares in Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.68% or 3.95 to 73.50.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 4.02% or 1.92 to $45.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.78% or 1.92 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.30% or 16.20 to trade at $1232.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.0972, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 98.68.
