Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Leumi (TA:LUMI), which rose 2.58% or 43 points to trade at 1710 at the close. Meanwhile, Melisron (TA:MLSR) added 2.57% or 500 points to end at 19980 and Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) was up 2.53% or 1070 points to 43420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TA:BEZQ), which fell 1.10% or 7.0 points to trade at 630.0 at the close. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) declined 0.41% or 100 points to end at 24170 and Gazit Globe (TA:GZT) was down 0.08% or 3 points to 3714.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 277 to 125 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Leumi (TA:LUMI) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.58% or 43 to 1710.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.67% or 0.33 to $49.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $52.20 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.19% or 15.29 to trade at $1273.81 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.71% to 3.6538, while EUR/ILS rose 0.82% to 3.9688.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 98.98.
