Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the IT, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 declined 0.14%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were TATA STEEL LIMITED (NS:TISC), which rose 4.28% or 16.70 points to trade at 406.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Tata Motors DV Ltd (NS:TAMdv) added 3.67% or 12.95 points to end at 366.00 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) was up 2.90% or 16.10 points to 571.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bharti Infratel Limited (NS:BHRI), which fell 3.08% or 11.750 points to trade at 369.550 at the close. Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:ASPN) declined 2.19% or 26.50 points to end at 1183.00 and Housing Development Finance Corp. (NS:HDFC) was down 1.82% or 25.90 points to 1400.10.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which rose 4.39% to 406.40, Tata Motors Ltd. (BO:TAMO) which was up 2.62% to settle at 565.70 and Tata Power Co. Ltd (BO:TTPW) which gained 2.16% to close at 80.50.
The worst performers were Cipla Ltd. (BO:CIPL) which was down 1.63% to 569.70 in late trade, Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which lost 1.36% to settle at 1012.65 and Housing Development Finance Corp. (BO:HDFC) which was down 1.28% to 1405.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 759 to 725 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1379 fell and 1342 advanced, while 213 ended unchanged.

The India Vix, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.36% to 14.4850.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.49% or 6.15 to $1259.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $50.28 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.28 to trade at $52.23 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.04% to 66.724, while EUR/INR fell 0.12% to 74.3060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 97.07.
