Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Metals and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.22%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI), which rose 2.97% or 215.35 points to trade at 7464.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC) added 1.86% or 3.70 points to end at 202.15 and Tata Motors DV Ltd (NS:TAMdv) was up 1.70% or 4.85 points to 290.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tech Mahindra Limited (NS:TEML), which fell 2.67% or 10.60 points to trade at 386.80 at the close. GAIL Ltd (NS:GAIL) declined 1.92% or 7.45 points to end at 381.15 and ITC Ltd (NS:ITC) was down 1.80% or 5.60 points to 306.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which rose 3.00% to 7451.00, TATA STEEL LIMITED (BO:TISC) which was up 1.47% to settle at 506.30 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which gained 1.40% to close at 467.20.
The worst performers were Gail (India) Ltd. (BO:GAIL) which was down 1.99% to 380.95 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 1.73% to settle at 306.20 and Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was down 1.61% to 536.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 802 to 753 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1354 rose and 1255 declined, while 169 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.85% to 10.8625.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.19% or 2.44 to $1277.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.22 to trade at $48.08 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.05% to 64.240, while EUR/INR fell 0.33% to 71.8140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 97.37.
