Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 8.70% or 0.0036 points to trade at 0.0450 at the close. Meanwhile, Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) added 6.28% or 0.45 points to end at 7.62 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 4.31% or 0.0202 points to 0.4886 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 4.32% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.151 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 3.23% or 0.04 points to end at 1.20 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 3.12% or 0.038 points to 1.180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 54 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.12% or 0.038 to 1.180.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.37% or 1.70 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.56% or 2.10 to trade at $61.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1344, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.870.
