Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financial Services and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.56%, while the MDAX index added 1.40%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.85%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 6.23% or 1.94 points to trade at 33.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 5.76% or 1.37 points to end at 25.17 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 4.49% or 0.94 points to 22.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 1.02% or 1.70 points to trade at 164.54 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 0.97% or 0.08 points to end at 7.69 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was down 0.80% or 0.41 points to 50.62.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 6.30% to 61.12, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was up 5.70% to settle at 9.64 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 5.38% to close at 22.32.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 4.12% to 34.20 in late trade, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which lost 3.22% to settle at 37.90 and Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 2.93% to 9.95 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 13.93% to 21.71, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 6.30% to settle at 61.12 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 5.70% to close at 9.64.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 2.26% to 22.87 in late trade, Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which lost 1.92% to settle at 28.66 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 1.10% to 46.64 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 461 to 217 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.97% or 0.08 to 7.69. Shares in Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.80% or 0.41 to 50.62. Shares in Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.22% or 1.26 to 37.90. Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.93% or 0.30 to 9.95.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.61% to 31.20.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.60% or 28.15 to $1,735.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.52% or 1.51 to hit $97.99 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.92% or 1.97 to trade at $100.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 106.83.
