Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.00%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 1.94% or 3.05 points to trade at 160.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.13% or 1.00 points to end at 89.65 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 0.82% or 0.21 points to 25.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD), which fell 1.95% or 1.92 points to trade at 96.60 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) declined 1.90% or 0.47 points to end at 24.06 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.42% or 3.10 points to 214.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which rose 7.31% to 207.00, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was up 4.20% to settle at 3.60 and CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which gained 4.07% to close at 0.40.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 10.18% to 11.89 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 5.67% to settle at 1.38 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 3.14% to 271.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 270 to 263 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (EPA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; rising 1.94% or 3.05 to 160.25. Shares in Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.31% or 14.10 to 207.00. Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) fell to all time lows; down 5.67% or 0.08 to 1.38.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.78% or 16.90 to $2,176.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.48% or 1.19 to hit $81.82 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 1.10 to trade at $85.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 103.93.
