Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.83%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.88%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 3.90% or 1.20 points to trade at 31.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 3.55% or 1.90 points to end at 55.48 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 3.33% or 14.90 points to 462.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP), which rose 0.15% or 0.18 points to trade at 118.82 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 0.57% or 0.28 points to end at 48.25 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 0.66% or 2.15 points to 328.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 10.50% to 11.84, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 9.70% to settle at 10.66 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 6.46% to close at 6.69.
The worst performers were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was down 2.91% to 284.00 in late trade, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which lost 1.06% to settle at 112.40 and BIC (EPA:BICP) which was down 0.94% to 68.45 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 394 to 168 and 66 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 14.45 to $1,663.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.95% or 0.80 to hit $85.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.79 to trade at $92.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.23% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.11% at 111.94.
