France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.48%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.48% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 3.84% or 0.75 points to trade at 20.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 2.47% or 1.59 points to end at 65.89 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.35% or 1.24 points to 93.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which fell 0.84% or 0.26 points to trade at 30.82 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 0.82% or 0.46 points to end at 55.94 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.79% or 0.13 points to 15.77.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) which rose 3.84% to 20.22, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 3.77% to settle at 2.70 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) which gained 2.47% to close at 65.89.

The worst performers were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 6.26% to 13.10 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 5.89% to settle at 0.44 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 3.52% to 6.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 265 to 242 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; up 1.35% or 1.24 to 93.38.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.45% or 9.15 to $2,053.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.45% or 1.11 to hit $77.89 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.73 to trade at $82.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 103.26.
